Introduction

OJTs / Departmental SOP training is a huge organizational investment in time and effort. For the any industry, consistent training is MANDATORY in creating skilled and focused workforce to improve performance, deliver superior service year-round, and maintain the right culture. However, for training to work, learning must take place. For learning to take place, the manager or supervisor assuming the role of a trainer must be competent in conducting and managing training. There's a big difference between "knowing your stuff" and knowing HOW to teach others your stuff. Trainers have to know both.
